Fried Iron

Okay, my second day in France started off with disasters. First, I turn on the water from the bathtub and as I was turning on the water, I was thinking that the water would come through the bathtub fausat. NOT! The water came through the shower hose thingy that was attached to the wall. Therefore, the water exploaded all over the bathroom! I had to use my nice clean dry towel to clean up the water mess! Then, after the shower, I plugged my iron in to the converter plug and into the plug on the wall. The iron steamed REALLY HOT. It was unbelievably hot that the ends melted! So I thought, “Great! Now I can’t straighten my hair!” Then I figured that the hairdryer would work. NOPE! Plugged the hairdryer in and made WIERD NOISES instead of blowing fresh hot air! ARRRRGGGGGGGGGG! At least my hair was not that bad and it looked good in wavy, but I don’t WANT CURLY hair!!!!!!!! Thankfully, the oldest daughter of the family is comign home on Wednesday night and I was told that she has a hairdryer and I am more than welcome to use it. Also, my dad is coming to Paris this weekend which means he’ll be able to bring my travel hairdryer that I used on my last France trip and it worked well. My host family actually did try to help me fix the dryer and the iron and unfortunately, there was no success. Man! Life is more difficult without technology!
