When I was in sixth grade, I spent a good few weeks learning about Australia in a social studies class. I remember clearly talking about how Australia is known for its most unique animals including koalas, kangaroos, and platypus. Since then, I have been so eager to visit Australia and see the most extraordinary animals, those who do not exist in US!
Well, today, I had the opportunity to go to Tangora Zoo, a zoo in Sydney. I saw the most adorable koala bears. I wanted to climb up the tree and SQUEEEEEEEEEEEZE them. They are SOOO CUTE!
I also saw kangaroos. Most of them were so lazy that they didn’t hop at all. They just laid on the ground like lazy kittens. I only saw one hopping, but not as high as I thought that they could do. Oh well. Maybe another time.
I also saw a long-necked turtle, an emu, a gorgeous peacock with a sparkling blue head and colorful feathers (I don’t think peacocks are Australians?), a dingo, and a few other Australian animals. I didn’t bother to see other animals as there was no point spending time to see the ones that I’ve seen at many other zoos such as giraffs and monkeys.
I was really impressed by the amount of space that the animals have to move around at the zoo.
