Traveling the Greater Road

Having the opportunity to venture outside of the city and see the countryside is an important aspect of traveling.  From my previous traveling experiences, I’ve found that each part of the world has its own unique landscapes.  Thus, it was very important for me to see the landforms of Peru.  Also, the lifestyle in the countryside can be quite different from the lifestyle in the city.

Riding through the countryside to discover the Andes Mountains, the farming life of the Peruvians, the fields, animals, and the homes was placing me in an entirely different world to discover!  I was truly a stranger in a strange land!  The homes seemed to be made of clay. In fact, many of the homes in the countryside had no glass or any kind of covering on the windows!  It was just a hole!  A lot of them sure did seem to appear as if they were going to collapse.  I was amazed by how Peruvians can walk up the mountains freely without getting exhausted.  Their bodies are seriously accustomed to the high altitude and walking up and down the mountains.  I also saw horses and some big, fat, ugly pigs.  The mountains looked like bunch of big chunks of rocks with some brown grass growing.  It’s not like the Pyrenees where the mountains have pure green grasses or the Canadian Rockies where there is snow on the mountains.  It’s just the Andes Mountains.

Take a moment to enjoy part of the ride through the Sacred Valley!
