Loire Valley

No matter where we are in France, everywhere in France is GORGEOUS! I went to the Loire Valley today and it’s about an hour and a half by train from Paris and it’s also in Tours, another major city in France. This city is magnificent. The buildings are truly charming and I felt like I was back in time, maybe during the 18th and 19th century. I visited two beautiful castles, Amboise and Chenonceau. Both of them are located on the biggest river in France, Loire River. It’s amazing how people during those days, 18th and 19th centuries, put millions of effort into the design and the architecture. The furniture are just incredibly elegant. The woods are just well carved with swirls, flowers, and unique shapes. The fabric for the chairs and the bed are incredibly shiny. I totally wished that I could own those furniture! It’s amazing what money can do for the rich people – have best of the best architecture! Although, I learned that people did not live in castles for pleasure. They lived in castles for protection from attacks from other towns. Castles were always very cold and misery. Light was very lacking also. Therefore, it’s actually better to live as a peasant where there is lots of sunlight coming through the windows than as a king or a queen.
