Why do fruits taste better in Europe than in United States? I had this wonderful “mystery” fruit yesterday and became so obsessed with it that I ate another this morning. I finally asked my host sister tonight what is that fruit. She said it’s a peach! WHAT???? It does NOT taste like peach in US and it doesn’t even look the same! The inside of the peach is VERY yellow where as in US, it’s quite orang-y. Two nights ago, my host family made the most delicious apple pie. There was just the pie crust with apples cut up well like a normal triangle shape slice, and the apples were placed in the pie like an elegant swirl. There was also cinnamon powder on it. Yummmm! Last night, I had the purest french quiche – quiche with cheese and bacon. French people do really cook like restaurant chefs do! Dinner is EXTREMLY important in the french family homes.
