UGH! What was I thinking? I was pulling a LARGE block of marble through the airport, onto the train, and then through the train station. My hands were feeling hot and achey. I was switching my hands to pull the handle bar. I was trying to walk as fast as I could, but I couldn’t. I was pausing every minute.
Here’s the reality. I was pulling a suitcase with a duffle bag on top of it, and I was carrying a backpack filled with rocks (of course, there are no rocks. Just a computer, my cameras, and my camera equipments.) My father decided that we should take a taxi to the hotel from the train station since I was struggling to handle all of my baggage. So, we get into this little taxi that was quite different from the taxis in New York. Not only that the shape of the taxi is different, but also the interior part is quite different. The shape of the taxi is much more rounder and a little taller. The there were no trunks. There’s a large opening space in the middle. There are five seats inside including two that simply fold down behind the driver’s seat.
Anyways, imagine a family of five with five suitcases, our carry on bags, and my duffle bag all inside a regular taxi together. We literally almost did not get everything in, but somehow we managed to squeeeeeeeze ourselves and all of our bags in. I was sure squished as hell, and my poor father who is a big guy was quite squished too and had to keep his legs wide opened to fit the suitcase in front of him.
So how am I going to handle my bags for the rest of the trip? I’m going to ship all of my stuff that is inside my duffle bag to my friend in Italy (Jodi, expect an e-mail from me about this.) and to the host family with whom I will be staying for two weeks in August. If I can avoid carrying my duffle bag, I can handle my suitcase and my backpack perfectly fine as I have in the past trips.

Hey V! LOOOOL! You know us when it comes to traveling. Even if we have to sit on the floor of the plane to get to Europe, we’ll do it.
Missing you! xoxo
