The Basque region is the most shocking region.. This regiion reminds me of New England; There are millions of old and charming towns. Anais’ mother explained to me that there are strict laws in the basque region, that houses have to be built in a certain style, the basque style, in order to keep its tradition, the beauty of the region, and for the tourist to see what the Basque region is about. The buildings are completely white with a few red woods attached to them. Some woods are actually painted green or blue, but about 90 percent are painted in red, for “the symbol of basque region.” The buildings actually look similar to the ones in Switzerland. We drove through the Pyreenes mountains and stopped at every little town to take a stroll. The sellers and everyone in this region are noticably so much nicer and more friendlier than the ones in Paris. They act like they know you already! In fact, when Anais’ mom was talking to a resident from the window, I asked her, “You know that person!” She said, “No. She was just saying ‘hi!’” When I went to a tourist office, I asked the person in the tourist office, “Where can I find posters to buy?” She said,”Oh! I have a ton that I can just give to you!” I got a handful of posters in my hand that I got for free! I have been out since 8 o’clock this morning and did not get home until about 6 o’clock! What a nice long day!
