NEVER be a follower!

Did you know that sand mountains exist? They are known as dunes. I visited the BIGGEST dune in Europe, La Dune du Pyla. It’s located in Gironde, an hour and a half from Bayonne. We stopped there on the way back to Bayonne from Bordeaux. My jaws completely dropped when I saw this gigantic dune! I even asked the stupidest questions – Is there a stone mountain under the sand? Was this made by the planet Earth? Of course there is NO stone mountain under the sand. There is ONLY sand. Yes, it was made by our beautiful planet Earth. Jean-Victor, Marie, and I took the stairs to the peak of the dune, and we saw a beautiful view of the ocean. Instead of taking the stairs to reach back to the ground, we ran down the hill! Okay, here is the explanation to my title of this entry “NEVER be a follower!” Jean-Victor said to me, “Marie and I are going to run down the hill. Are you going to run with us?” Obviously, I said, “No, I am going to walk down the hill.”

“Awww! Rachel! Come on! Run down with us!”
“Alright!” I said. Stupid me! I ran down the sandy hill with them, and as I was running down the hill, I fell on my stomach! Jean-Victor immediately captured this moment on his camera! Again, NEVER be a follower! You’ll hurt yourself if you do be a follower. Don’t worry. I did not get hurt. There were only sand and sand is soft as a pillow.

Here is my special treat!
