I finally learned how to be a French baker! With the family, we made two gâteau Basque, one with cream and the other with cherry jam. Like I said, gâteau Basque is a speciality from the Basque region. This cake is absolutely delicious, but very complicated to make. I also made muffins for them like I did for the other families, and they enjoyed it so much that they asked me to send more muffin mix when I return to US! Like I said, muffins do not exist in France except in American cafes in Paris. Doughnuts and bagle do not exist either!
