Reminiscing the great times…

It has been ten days since I returned home from France. My bedroom is now nicely decorated with souvenirs from France including posters. Not to worry, I brought more than enough posters to put up in both my room at home and at my dorm. This week have been a little depressing for me because not only that my trip is over, but also, I will not be able to continue to speak French this year when I head to SCAD. I am really scared to lose my french. I have truly established my french during this five weeks trip. My host families told me that my accent is very cute. One of my french friends wrote a note in my journal (YES…she stole my french journal with my noticing!) and she said that my accent is very charming. All in all, I have really spoke french like I speak english and I could even think in French too. When a host family member woke me up, I spoke french right away by saying “good morning.” When I got off of the plane in Atlanta, I was still thinking in French – when I was going through the customs, I spoke in French by accident to the officer. Of course, I thought, “I am in Atlanta. Not in Paris anymore.” It was really hard to realize that French is over and my trip too. Even though I can always read French novels and write to my French friends, it will still not be the same as speaking French. Like I said, what makes us bilingual is having the ability to speak a foreign language fluently. I really hope to go back to France very soon in order to keep up my French and of course to see my best friends. For now, I will remember my amazing trip by writing some memories that I forgot to mention on the blog and perhaps I’ll repeat some memories.
