The Filthiest City

This morning, I trekked through the Roman towns. As I always have seen in the past few days, cigarettebutts nearly filling in the cracks of the cobblestones and paper lying on the roads and sidewalks as no one seem to care about taking a few extra steps to the trash can. Graffiti were filling up on many of the walls of the buildings as no one seem to care about presenting this beautiful European city which is filled with beautiful architectural buildings. After visiting many major cities in my life including New York, Los Angeles, and Paris, I have to say that Rome is the filthiest city that I have visited so far. It’s not just the wearing down appearance, it’s also the smell, the smell of the public school bathrooms, that permeate from somewhere to some parts of the city – probably a garbage can hiding somewhere that has not been cleaned for several days. The government of Italy really needs to get their acts together to preserve this one of the architecturally magnificent towns.
