THAAAAANK GOOOODNESS!  The sunshine came this afternoon!  I can snap lots of pictures!  It was quite cloudy this morning, and it was drizzling a little.

So, today, I went to an area that is about 20 minutes from Besançon that proudly displays its architecture that best represents the Englightement Age, a period that took place in the 1800′s.  The Enlightenment Age revived the architectural style of Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman.  This concept is known as Neoclassicism.  The design was all about rationalizing industrial buildings.  This area where I visited was called Saline Royale.

The buildings were designed by an architect named, Claude-Nicolas Ledoux.  The building began during the time when Louis XVI was the king, in 1775.

There are two museums in the area.  One displays the history of salt and the other displays the architectural planning of Saline Royale.  I have to say that the museum that displayed the history of salt was quite random.  Who’d ever thought about spending an hour learning about salt?  Anyways, the information was quite interesting though.

And oh!  The ride to Saline Royale was beautiful!
