French people consider Besançon a BIG city. For me, as an American, I consider it a very small city. I can walk through the entire downtown within an hour whereas in big cities such as New York, Atlanta, and Boston, it would take the entire day for me to walk through the city! Besançon is a charming town with its unique architecture. The architecture has a distinct French design as it has very specific details in the designs such as swirls and all sorts of curves. Part of the roads in downtown are closed so that pedestrians can just roam through the streets. There are lots of stores thare are only found in France and/or throughout Europe such as Pimkie and Jennyfer, women’s clothing stores. There are certainly lots of good cafes where we can grab a fruit tart or a chocolate croissant! Yum!
I spent the past two days roaming through downtown Besançon to visit some museums, which I will discuss later, and to do some shopping. No, I did not go on a fun shopping spree! I had to pick up some art supplies before I head off to school this Friday!
