First Impressions

There are so many charms in Provence.  Architecture is magnificent.  Buildings made of stones and stuccos are what makes the designs beautiful.  They’re not boring like buildings made of brick, which shows too much repetition.  Each stone vary in different sizes which adds vibration to the buildings.  Even though some buildings are made of stucco, which tends to create simplicity in the designs, it’s still beautiful because the colors are bright.  There are so much green here.  When I walk out of the door, I step on a green grass, and I see lots of gorgeous trees including cypress.  There are also vibrant green bushes all over the place.  As I look out in the gardens, I see mountains.  On a sunny day, I can see various shadows in the mountains, and the contrasts of shadows and highlights in the mountains create splendid scenery.  In fact, when there are a few clouds in the sky, there are noticeable shadows of the clouds on the land.  Quite captivating!  The roads are made of cobble stones, and I have to admit that it’s a tough walk, but it’s a great exercise!  In fact, roads made of bright brown cobble stones instead of plain simple black tar adds so much beauty to the village as it creates details to the design.  Since the village is on a mountain, I feel like I am hiking up and down the mountain all the time.  Life is very different here, and it’s a wonderful different life.
