While France is flourished with beautiful gothic buildings, there are also quite a bit of other historical sites including ancient roman.  Arles is a city that is occupied with magnificent ancient Roman monuments.  Arles is right by a big river that passes through the Provence region, Rhone River.

My host family and I went to the Arlatan Museum where it’s filled with many treasures of Provence.  This museum explains a great deal about the history of Provence by displaying many artifacts that come from as far as hundreds of years.

Les Arènes is a grand ancient roman artifact like the Colosseum in Rome, Italy.  It’s one of the most well-preserved Roman monument in Provence.  A very important note to make -  GO TO THE TOP! Tourists can get an incredible panoramic view of Arles by going to the top.

Théâtre Antique is another incredible ancient Roman monument that has 2,000 tiered seats arranged in a hemisphere. It was once a fortress.
