What’s so amazing about Provence is that not only that I can study French art, but also Roman art, especially in the city of Arles.  About 3 miles from Apt, there is an old bridge called Pont Julien that was built around 3 BC by the Romans.  For your information, the word “Pont” means bridge. […]

I’m walking through crowded narrow streets.  As I walk through, I smell something really sweet as if it’s perfum or soap.  As I turn my head to the sides to see what’s selling on the tables, I see magnificent periwinkle blue lavenders.  “Hmmmm, should I get some to put in my room to enjoy the […]

I’m at SCAD, my university, now. For the next eight weeks, I will be sitting on a reclining chair in the backyard behind my apartment and gazing at this beautiful scenery.  What’s even more awesome is that there is a WiFi in the backyard!!!!  WOOOOW! I couldn’t have asked for a better abroad study program.

Summer season is obviously over in France as the weather is quite chilly, and museums and other tourist attraction sites are very empty in these days.  I’m heading to my university tomorrow in Provence which means that I will be saying good bye to Besançon tomorrow morning.  I’m taking a train, actually two trains.  It’ll […]

Imagine having some form of water such as lake or river in your backyard?  It’s very charming!  I love watching the water sparkle away under the sunlight. There is a town in Franche-Comte, not too far from Besançon, called Ornan, and it’s situated by the Doubs River.  Many homes rest on the edge of the […]

French people consider Besançon a BIG city.  For me, as an American, I consider it a very small city.  I can walk through the entire downtown within an hour whereas in big cities such as New York, Atlanta, and Boston, it would take the entire day for me to walk through the city!  Besançon is […]

I went to a market that I would actually call “the LARGEST garage sale.”  This market was packed with used toys, clothes, electronics, dishes, and just bunch of crap.  It seemed to be a place for people who just cleaned their house and just want to get rid of their items by selling them.  While […]

The other day, I went with the host mother to pick up her 12 year old son at a sports game practice.  She just simply told me that he was at a sports practice.  I’m not a sports nutcake and so, I didn’t bother to ask her what sports it was.  As soon as I […]
